Thankfulness.
It’s Thanksgiving Day and I’m sure most of us have had quite a bit more turkey than we could handle. And it’s probably SO cliche for me to be talking about thankfulness. BUT… here I am. And I’m talking to you about thankfulness. So, let’s hop in!
When people ask you what you’re thankful for, what are some of the things that usually come to your mind? Continue reading
When I’m “too busy”
Hey girls! I know, I know… you’re all probably wondering why there were no new blog posts the past few weeks. In fact, I have even been slacking on updating the TCG facebook page. To be completely honest, there probably wouldn’t have even been a post for tonight if I hadn’t forced myself to sit down and write one. *Gasp!*
So I sat on my bed and opened my laptop and began to think on what I should write to you ladies about. Truth be told, I couldn’t think of anything. Until a little voice inside my head told me to give up because I was too busy to write a blog tonight anyway. And then… it happened. Inspiration began to stir inside my mind. It was as if the clouds parted and the sun broke through as God’s voice began to speak, giving me an incredible word for you today…. Continue reading
Carry Me
I try to catch my breath
It hasn’t happened yet
I’m wide awake in the middle of the night scared to death
So I prayed God, would You make this stop
Father please hold on to me, You’re all I’ve got
Recognize it? The above quote is the opening verse for Josh Wilson’s song “Carry Me.” I’ve loved this song since the first time I heard it. Little did I know that the lyrics would become a reality in my life. I never knew I would constantly be repeating the lines in the chorus… Continue reading
When God Gives You A Dream
It’s never, ever too late to begin again and live the dream you’ve been given! – Annie Lobert
One year ago today, I was struggling. I was struggling to find my purpose in this world. Struggling to find something meaningful to invest my time, my energy, and my life into. I so desperately wanted to do something to make the world a better place. It was my dream. Continue reading
Shine Bright.
Summer is quickly coming to an end and schools are opening again. A time of football games, exams, homework, projects, band practice… With all this hustle and bustle we can quickly be consumed by the everyday demands of life. It’s easy to forget all the great things that happened during summer break. It’s easy to forget that commitment you made to God at your youth camp. It’s easy to forget how you were able to bless others through your missions trip. Continue reading
The Three P’s!
In today’s society, I feel like there’s so much pressure on women. There’s pressure on how to act, how to dress, how to look, how to be a better mom, how to be a better wife, how to be a better…. you fill in the blank. I know so many women who are stressed daily with all the different demands of life calling out to them all at once. It’s easy to get caught up in it all and lose your focus. Here’s what I have to say to you: Continue reading
How to Love Your Enemies
I had this thought yesterday, and it’s totally something I’ve been working on lately.
You show how much you “love your enemies” by how much you pray for and ask God to bless them.
“But I say unto you, LOVE your enemies, BLESS them that curse you, DO GOOD to them that hate you, and PRAY for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” Matthew 5:44 Continue reading
Marriage – A Permanent Covenant
Marriage – A Permanent Covenant
by Jessica Shaffer
I felt the need to share my opinion after reading and experiencing some of life’s obstacles. I am a huge advocate of implementing one’s faith into their relationship, and in turn letting God be the foundation of a blossoming marriage. To say that “marriage,” is an easy institution is a fallacy. Marriage is an intense, and sometimes capricious commitment that involves many hours of pruning, up keep, and compromise. After six years of marriage, I can honestly say that I’ve given it my all – and in turn it has been the most rewarding experience of my life. Continue reading
